MPD Tip: Raising More in Half the Time

Ryan McR 750x380Like me, I’m sure it’s hard to find time to raise needed funds. Ryan McReynolds may have the answer you’re looking for. At CSU2013, Ryan explained how to use Cru Apps by Google to more efficiently find monthly donors. He built a process using the principles from The Four Disciplines of Execution: Achieving Your Wildly Important Goals by Chris McChesney and Sean Covey.

These disciplines are:

  1. Choose a Wildly Important Goal: Raise more money
  2. Focus on Lead Measures, NOT Lag Measures
  3. Build a Player’s Scoreboard
  4. Establish a Regular Cadence of Accountability

Ryan explains in this eight-minute video how he applies these principles to MPD using eMails (and other forms of messaging). After you watch the video you’ll want to get started.

What to Do to Get Started

Go to Ryan’s seminar notes in Google Drive where he explains why and how to use his process. He includes a spreadsheet template for an MPD scoreboard and several sample eMails.

Ryan mentions Boomerang for Gmail in his notes, which is still available for staff at a discounted price. Read more here about ways to use Boomerang and how to sign up.

Both Ryan and I would love to hear from you in the comments about how this strategy works for you!

Bio: Ryan is a National Director of Operations representing the Northeast Region of the Cru Campus Ministry. He lives in Boston and is passionate about keeping Missionaries on Mission.
